The genesis of the Decentralized Autonomous Organization Logistic Green Label
The Green Label project, which aims to certify the sustainability of shipments, has undergone a significant transformation, becoming an open initiative managed democratically through a Decentralized Autonomous Organization > (DAO).
In the month of July 2022, the founders of Logivery s.r.l. have started to develop the idea of the Green Label with the aim of promoting environmentally sustainable logistics practices.
The Green Label is a label, available in both paper and digital format, which provides not only operational information relating to the shipment, such as the recipient's name, address and tracking number telephone, but also an environmental certification. This certification certifies that the processes linked to the label, applied on a box, a pallet or any shipping unit, have been managed following ecological criteria.
In the month of June 2023, the procedure for filing the trademark was started at the Italian Patent and Trademark Office (UIBM application no. 302023000097389 of 23/ 06/2023).
In August 2023, the idea was put forward to establish a committee responsible for supervising the environmental certification service of Green Label logistics processes, ensuring precision and transparency. From the beginning, it was decided to entrust the management of the committee to a DAO based on blockchain technology, using the network Polygon and the platform Aragon.
In October 2023, the decision was made to open the project to all interested parties, in order to develop the initiative in an appropriate institutional context. In this process, the brand and future of the Green Label were transferred to DAO, which changed its name to "Logistic Green Label" rather than "Logivery Green Label".
The categories of subjects invited to participate in the DAO include environmental associations representing the natural environment, consumer associations, users of logistics services such as commercial companies and marketplaces, logistics operators specialized in storage and transport goods, operators in the packaging sector, manufacturers of vehicles and equipment for the transport of goods, companies providing logistics support services, universities, research bodies, individual experts and other subjects deemed strategic for the project.
